The editor at a glance

What every panel does, and the shortcuts worth learning on day one.

Layout

  • Left — the hierarchy: scenes, and the entities inside the current one. Click to select, drag to reorder.
  • Centre — the canvas, or the graph, depending on the tab.
  • Right — the inspector. It always shows whatever is selected.
  • Top — scene switcher, play, history and publish.

Both side panels collapse. On a narrow screen they become drawers, so the editor is usable on a tablet.

Shortcuts

Key Does
Space (hold) Pan the canvas or graph
Scroll Zoom
Delete Remove the selection
Ctrl/Cmd + D Duplicate the selection
Ctrl/Cmd + Z Undo
Ctrl/Cmd + S Save now (it also autosaves)

The graph tools

Above the graph there are two tools: Select and Pan. Select drags nodes and draws a marquee over empty space; Pan moves the view without disturbing anything. Holding Space temporarily switches to Pan whichever tool is active.
